2001 Chevrolet Prizm:
Chevrolet released two subcompact
Prizm models for the year 2001, the Prizm Sedan and
Prizm Lsi Sedan, each with four doors and a seating
capacity of five passengers. Both models offer some
good competition against other vehicles in its class,
including some of the top imports.
One of the main benefits of the
Chevrolet Prizm is fuel economy, which is rated at approximately
31/37 (city/hwy) for the manual transmission vehicles,
and 29/37 (city/hwy) for the four-speed automatic versions.
Each of the Chevrolet Prizm Sedan
models are equipped with a 1.8L four-cylinder engine
with dual overhead camshaft, sequential port fuel injection,
and 125 horsepower. Standard transmission is five-speed
manual, with automatic transmission available as an
option for those who prefer it to the stick shift. Drive
type is two-wheel front, and each vehicle is fitted
with all-season SBR tires.
The interior of the Chevrolet Prizm
Sedan yields the luxuries and conveniences of air conditioning,
cloth reclining front bucket seats, center console,
cup holders, an AM/FM radio with optional stereo/CD
player, dual power outside mirrors, remote fuel door
and deck lid release.
Adding to the package, the Prizm
Lsi Sedan features cruise control, power windows, power
door locks, a handy remote keyless entry, tilt steering
wheel, AM/FM stereo with CD player, and a split folding
rear seat with trunk pass-through for longer items such
as skis. A moonroof/sunroof is optional on both models.
Safety features cover all the essentials,
and include driver side air bag, passenger side air
bag, and optional side impact air bags. Other standards
listed are both front and rear head restraints, child
safety locks, and optional integrated child seats. To
prevent mishaps, each model is fitted with an interior
emergency trunk release. One important optional feature
you might want to seriously consider to increase safety
is ABS brakes.
