The new 2001 Toyota
RAV4 has no rivals when it comes to durability, quality, and
high resale value. This year’s models take pride in superior

Two models are offered, Toyota RAV4 and Toyota RAV 4 4WD,
each with four doors and a seating capacity of five passengers.
Under the hood,
each model sports a four-cylinder engine with DOHC combining
to produce 148 horsepower. Standard transmission is five-speed
manual, with optional automatic transmission. The RAV4 has
two-wheel front drive, while the RAV4 4WD is equipped with
four-wheel full-time drive for more demanding terrain and
weather conditions.
Safety features
include driver depowered air bag, passenger depowered air
bag, and both front and rear head restraints. The rear defroster
and rear wiper keep the back window clear for optimum visibility.
ABS brakes are
available as an option, as are front fog lights. For the prevention
of mishaps with younger passengers, child safety locks have
been installed on each vehicle.
The Toyota RAV4
certainly does not overlook luxury. Options include air conditioning,
leather seats, power windows, power door locks, and dual power
mirror.
Cruise/speed control,
keyless entry system, moonroof/sunroof, and a six-speaker
AM/FM stereo with CD player can be added as well. The rear
seat conveniently folds down to create additional space for
luggage and equipment.
