The elegant and powerful Volvo C70 enters the year 2001 with
two coupe models and two racy convertibles, the C70 HT Coupe,
C70 HT Special Edition Coupe, C70 LT Convertible, and C70
HT Convertible.
Each model sports two-door entry, with a seating capacity
of four comfortable passengers. Their grace and smooth lines
are equal only to Volvo’s solid reputation for fine engineering.
Under the hood of both the coupe and convertible runs a magnificent
five-cylinder engine with DOHC, running on turbo gas to produce
an envious 236 horsepower. Drive type is two-wheel front rolling
along on all-season SBR tires (the HT Special Edition upgrades
that to performance SBR tires).
Standard transmission is five-speed manual with optional
automatic transmission. The exception is the LT Convertible,
which is equipped with a standard five-speed automatic transmission
and attains a very respectable 190 horsepower.
Safety features are numerous, and include ABS brakes, driver
depowered air bag, passenger depowered air bag, side impact
air bags, both front and rear head restraints, and front fog
lights. Traction control is available as an option on all
models.
Luxuries are enviable in the Volvo C70 models, and range
from air conditioning to cruise/speed control, rear defroster,
a convenient keyless entry system, and a theft deterrent system
for peace of mind while away from the vehicle.
Other standards listed are power door locks, dual power mirrors,
power windows, and an AM/FM stereo with CD player. Soft leather
seating is the name of the day for all but the HT Coupe, and
the Volvo C70 is graced with a moonroof/sunroof for all to
