2002 Acura NSX Overview

The fascinating new Acura NSX Coupe is a study in sporty design and high-performance specifications. With a wide stance and stiff suspension, it corners sharply and makes for an exciting ride. Two models are available - the Acura NSX 3.0 Coupe and Acura NSX 3.2 Coupe.

Standard safety features in the Acura NSX 3.0 Coupe include ABS brakes, traction control system, side impact door beams, and child seat tether anchors. Front and ear crumple zones that channel energy away from the cabin protect passengers in the vent of an impact. Other measures listed are a driver side air bag and passenger side air bag.

The interior of the Acura NSX 3.0 Coupe is luxurious, with basics such as leather seating, cruise control, theft deterrent system with immobilizer, and automatic climate control. Both the driver’s seat and passenger’s seat are four-way power adjustable.

The comforts and conveniences continue with power door locks, power outside mirrors, and power windows. An AM/FM stereo with four speakers is standard for an enjoyable ride for all.

Under the hood, the Acura NSX 3.0 Coupe packs an impressive 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine with 24-valve DOHC, programmed fuel injection, and four-speed automatic transmission. The pleasant result is 252 horsepower and 210 lbs-ft of torque. The redline is set at 7500 rpm.

Each Acura NSX 3.0 Coupe is a rear wheel drive, and is equipped with forged aluminum alloy wheels. Up front, the tires are sixteen-inch, while the rear is fitted with seventeen-inch tires. The fuel economy rating is estimated at 18/24 (city/hwy).

The Acura NSX 3.0 Coupe is classified as a Low Emissions Vehicle.

Echoing all the safety and luxury features of the previous model, the Acura NSX 3.2 Coupe upgrades performance specifications with a 3.2-litre six-cylinder engine that pumps out 290 horsepower and 224 lbs-ft of torque. The redline for this model is 8000 rpm. Standard transmission is a fun-filled six-speed manual.
