With dashing and sleek lines and sporty performance,
the new 2002 Audi TT Coupe breezes in this year with
two exceptional models - the Audi TT Coupe 180 hp Model
and the Audi TT Coupe 225 hp Model. In addition to a
fabulous overall drive, each of these glamorous vehicles
is packed to the roof with comforts and conveniences.
The Audi TT Coupe 180 hp Model begins with standard
five-speed manual transmission with synchronized reverse
gear and dual mass flywheel. It is equipped with front-wheel
drive, with quattro four-wheel full-time drive available.
The engine is a turbocharged, 20-valve, DOHC, four-cylinder
machine with intercooler and direct ignition. These
factors combine to produce 180 horsepower and 173 lbs-ft
of torque. Each vehicle is fitted with sixteen-inch
five-spoke alloy wheels and performance tires, with
seventeen-inch alloys available as an option.
Of course, safety is certainly not overlooked and Audi
has earned quite a reputation for its thorough safety
features. Some of the standards include a driver depowered
air bag, passenger depowered air bag, side head protection
air bags, side impact air bags, and both front and rear
head restraints. ABS brakes are an important basic as
well.
To maintain proper visibility in foul weather, there
are front fog lights, high-pressure retractable head
light washers, and heated windshield washer fluid. Among
the “little extras” are a first aid kit, tool
kit, and a central locking system that unlocks the doors
when air bags are deployed.
The Audi TT Coupe 180 hp Model comes loaded with luxuries
such as heated dual power outside mirrors, power windows,
power door locks, cruise control, and an AM/FM stereo
with cassette and CD changer pre-wire. Other amenities
include automatic temperature with air filter, and a
theft deterrent system.
The interior is graced with standards like a 50/50
split folding rear seat to accommodate excess cargo,
front sport seats, and touches like tie-down eyelets
in the cargo area and aluminum cup holders. The upholstery
is upscale leather, and the sport steering wheel, gearshift
knob, and hand brake lever are all wrapped in leather.
For extra sporty style, there are aluminum details everywhere.
The Audi TT Coupe 225 hp Model takes the first package
and makes a few changes. Standard transmission is six-speed
manual, and each vehicle is equipped with quattro four-wheel
full-time drive. As the name suggests, this model rips
along at 225 horsepower.
