2002 BMW 750iL Overview

Pushing performance, safety, and luxury specifications to the max, the new 2002 BMW 750iL Sedan delivers an altogether impressive package. This is a high-end four-door sedan that sets the standards for other luxury vehicles in its class. Few equal its brilliant European design, hence BMW’s loyal following and reputation as a symbol of status.

BMW 750iL Sedan drivers enjoy the benefits of leather upholstery, glove compartment, instrument panel, door trim and other leather details. The interior is graced with walnut wood trim and detailing, and unique items such as a ski bag that is stowed behind the rear seat armrest.

Automatic climate control with micro-filter and automatic ventilation keep air inside the vehicle comfortable and clean. Other standards include power windows, heated dual power mirrors, power door locks, and a keyless entry system.

The BMW 750iL Sedan also blesses its passengers with an anti-theft AM/FM stereo with CD player and trunk-mounted six-CD changer. With fourteen speakers, including four subwoofers and digital sound, the quality of audio is amazing...and will likely annoy your neighbors!

Other luxuries and conveniences range from cruise control to a heated steering wheel equipped with various controls, cell phone, garage door opener, power glass moonroof, and puddle lights on the doors.

Both the power front and rear seats are heated, making for a comfortable ride no matter what the weather. The front seats are power adjustable in so many ways you’ll feel like you’re in a living room armchair. Even the headrests are power-operated, and the seats, seatbelts, steering wheel, and outside mirrors have memory.

Safety is never overlooked at BMW, and the 750iL Sedan does not stray from the path. Each vehicle is equipped preventative measures such as anti-lock brakes, all-season tires, and front fog lights.

Passengers are cushioned by a host of air bags: driver side, passenger side, side impact, and side head protection. Important details like a theft deterrent system, keyless entry system, and an interior motion detector let you breather a little easier.

A variety of sensors activate automatic responses such as opening door locks, turning on hazard lights, and cutting off the fuel in the case of an impact. For those with children, you will be assured to know that child safety locks, child safety tethers, and a first aid kit are all standard features on the BMW 750iL Sedan.

Back to performance and engineering, we see some pretty impressive statistics. The BMW 750iL Sedan boasts a light alloy 5.4-litre twelve-cylinder engine with direct ignition system, and two overhead camshafts. If you think this machine hoofs some serious power, you’d be right; 326 horsepower, to be exact.

The full capabilities of the engine are realized by a five-speed three-mode tranmssion that lets it rip on the open highways. BMW’s “Steptronic” transmission is a combination automatic/ sport automatic/clutchless manual.

Each BMW 750iL is equipped with electronic damping control, self-leveling suspension, front and rear anti-roll bars, and sixteen-inch alloys wheels with all-season tires. Not only does it move fast, it also handles like a finely-tuned sports car.

The Sport Package BMW 750iL adds eighteen-inch alloy wheels, performance tires, upgraded wood trim and detailing, and special “shadowline” exterior trim.
