2002 BMW M3 Convertible Overview

The new 2002 BMW M3 Convertible is an electric combination of sporty style and luxurious indulgence. With impressive specifications all around, this four-passenger delight will turn more than just a few heads as you tour the streets and highways on a sunny day with the top down.

Performance is definitely an area where the BMW M3 Convertible shines. Under the hood of the BMW M3 is a 3.2-litre variable-timing DOHC, 24-valve, six-cylinder engine with 262 lbs-ft of torque and 333 horsepower. There are six individual electronic throttles, and the standard transmission is a fun six-speed manual.

The BMW M3 suspension provides an exciting ride with excellent handling, particularly in tight corners. This fact is due to the stiffened dampers, springs, anti-roll bars, and rear axle modified with a wider track. Drive type is rear wheel.

The BMW M3 Convertible is loaded with comforts and conveniences to satisfy even the most discriminating drivers. Each vehicle is equipped with air conditioning, cruise control, and a handy keyless entry system for easy access.

Other standard luxuries on the M3 include a fully lined retractable soft top with glass window, power door locks, heated dual power mirrors, and power windows. A theft deterrent system gives you a little more peace of mind when you are away from the vehicle.

The interior of the BMW M3 Convertible is finished with classy leather upholstery, and the front sport seats are power-adjustable. Heated front seats are available as a package. An anti-theft AM/FM stereo with cassette player and ten speakers is standard, and you can add the optional in-dash CD player in place of the cassette.

Air conditioning and filtered automatic climate control ensure a comfortable ride, and drivers will appreciate the cruise control for longer highway drives. The audio, cruise, and cell phone controls are all mounted on the three-spoke steering wheel.

As for safety, the BMW M3 Convertible has a rollover protection system, ABS brakes, limited slip differential, and traction control. Halogen front fog lights are a basic, as are a driver depowered air bag, passenger depowered air bag, and both front and rear head restraints.

Other safety features listed as standards on the BMW M3 include side impact air bags and side head protection air bags. As well, each BMW M3 is built with impact sensors that cut off the fuel, turn on the hazard lights, and unlock all doors in the event of an impact.
