2002 Ford Excursion

This year, Ford has rounded up no less than eight different models of the Excursion sport Utility a huge and powerful SUV built tough and seating nine passengers. They are briefly outlined below.

The Ford Excursion XLT starts off the models line up with an eight-cylinder engine with multi-port fuel injection, SOHC, 260 horsepower, and 350 lbs-ft of torque. Transmission is four-speed automatic, and drive type rear wheel. Each vehicle is fitted with all=season SBR tires.

Standard safety features include ABS brakes, driver side air bag, passenger side air bag, child safety locks, and both front and rear head restraints. A rear wiper and defroster keep the back window clear for increased visibility.

In the luxury department, the Excursion XLT boasts air conditioning, cruise control, keyless entry system, power door locks, power windows, and dual power outside mirrors. Other standards range from a folding rear seat to a theft deterrent system and AM/FM stereo with CD player.

The Ford Excursion XLT Premium adds all-terrain radials plus a few other details, and the engine is tweaked a bit for a slight dip to 255 horsepower and 350 lbs-ft of torque. Leather upholstery is optional.

The third model in the line up is the Excursion XLT 4WD, which takes the entry-level package and combines it with the benefits of four-wheel on-demand drive to handle challenging roads and weather.

The Ford Excursion XLT Premium 4WD throws it all together, with the full range of performance, safety, and luxury features outlined in the vehicles above, including four-wheel on-demand drive and optional leather seating.

Number five in the 2002 offerings is the Excursion Limited, with added front fog lights, all-terrain radial tires, leather upholstery, and an optional AM/FM stereo with CD player so you can choose your own audio upgrade.
