2002 Ford Expedition
The cleverly designed yet tough
new 2002 Ford Expedition Sport Utility lines up for
the year with four different models to choose from according
to your family, work, or lifestyle requirements. Each
of the Expedition XLT, Expedition XLT 4WD, Expedition
Eddie Bauer, and Expedition Eddie Bauer 4WD can accommodate
an impressive nine passengers in its four-door cabin.
Beginning with the base model Ford
Expedition XLT Sport Utility, passengers will enjoy
the comforts of air conditioning and the convenience
of power door locks, power windows, and dual power outside
mirrors.
The rear seat folds down to create
more cargo space, and the vehicle comes equipped with
items such as a keyless entry system, theft deterrent
system, and cruise control. A moonroof/sunroof, leather
upholstery, and an AM/FM stereo with CD player are all
optional.
Safety standards range from child
safety locks to front and rear head restraints, passenger
side air bag, driver side air bag, and ABS brakes. Front
fog lights are offered in a package deal, and side impact
air bags are available as an option.
In the area of performance, the
Ford Expedition XLT Sport Utility is outstanding with
an eight-cylinder, SOHC, sequential port fuel injected
engine that kicks up 220 horsepower and 293 lbs-ft of
torque. Each rear wheel drive vehicle has four-speed
automatic as its standard transmission.
The Ford Expedition XLT 4WD Sport
Utility adds four-wheel on-demand drive for negotiating
more challenging road conditions.
Pushing the standard features further,
the rear wheel drive Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer Sport
Utility includes front fog lights, a moonroof/sunroof,
an AM/FM stereo with CD player, and an interior that
sports classy leather seating throughout.
At the highest end of the line up,
the Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 4WD Sport Utility rolls
up the entire range of safety, performance, and luxury
details with an upgrade to an eight-cylinder engine
that cranks out 260 horsepower and 350 lbs-ft of torque.
Once again, four-wheel on-demand drive makes its appearance
on this model for optimum maneuverability.
