2002 Ford Thunderbird

Racy lines and sporty bravado mark the new 2002 Ford Thunderbird Convertible line up for this year. For years, drivers have been enthusiastic about this nostalgic top-down vehicle, and the design of this year’s two models is no exception to the classic roots.

The Ford Thunderbird Deluxe Convertible has two doors and a seating capacity of two passengers. It is equipped with front head restraints, driver depowered air bag, passenger depowered air bag, and offers optional traction control.

The passenger side air bag features a cut-off switch to accommodate those of shorter stature or children traveling up front with you.

Glancing under the hood, the Thunderbird Deluxe Convertible highlights a DOHC, eight-cylinder engine with electronic fuel injection, 252 horsepower, and 267 lbs-ft of torque. With a finely tuned suspension, it takes corners on a dime and has a sporty feel to everything it does.

Every Thunderbird Deluxe Convertible comes with all-season SBR tires, and is rear wheel drive. Standard transmission is five-speed automatic, reacting immediately to driving demands.

Comforts and conveniences include luxurious leather seating, a premium AM/FM stereo with CD player, air conditioning, and cruise control. The list goes on, citing a keyless entry system, dual power outside mirrors, power windows, power door locks, and a theft deterrent system.

Of course, you can’t beat the feeling of letting back the retractable convertible roof to let in the sun and wind!

The 2002 Ford Thunderbird Premium Convertible mirrors the entire package of the previous model point for point, and adds the benefits of traction control plus a myriad of other practical and aesthetic improvements.
