2002 GMC Yukon XL:
Holding its own amongst some pretty
stiff competition, the hefty new 2002 GMC Yukon XL Sport
Utility is a study in power and performance. But for
all its brute strength, this vehicle is graced with
a plethora of comforts and conveniences, coupled with
a lengthy list of safety features.
GMC offers up four models - Yukon
CL C1500 Sport Utility, Yukon XL C2500 Sport Utility,
Yukon XL K1500 Sport Utility, and Yukon XL K2500 Sport
Utility - all with four doors, and handy rear liftgate,
and seating for nine passengers.
The GMC Yukon CL C1500 Sport Utility
is equipped with a mighty eight-cylinder engine with
sequential port fuel injection, center of vee camshaft,
325 lbs-ft of torque, and an incredible 285 horsepower.
This model has rear wheel drive,
and a responsive standard automatic transmission for
an easy drive. All-terrain radial tires ensure a firm
grip on the roads as it powers along, and the towing
capacity is 8700 lbs.
Every Yukon CL C1500 is equipped
with an AM/FM stereo with CD player, power door locks,
dual power outside mirrors, and power windows. Drivers
will appreciate the cruise control and keyless entry
system on longer highway drives.
The list of luxuries goes on with
limited slip differential, a folding rear seat to accommodate
extra cargo, and a theft deterrent system to wathc over
your new vehicle and its contents.
To finish off this powerhouse with
an air of sophistication, you may choose the leather
upholstery and detailing package, or a moonroof/sunroof
that is available as an option.

Next in the 2002 line up, the GMC
Yukon XL K1500 is equipped with the benefits of four-wheel
on-demand drive that couples with the eight-cylinder,
285-horsepower engine for some pretty decent performance
in the face of foul weather and demanding roads. This
model is fitted with all-terrain radial tires, but traction
control has been omitted at this level.
Base invoice price: $32,947

the Yukon XL K2500 Sport Utility is a powerful collection
of the previous models features with the top performance
of 315 horsepower, 365 lbs-ft of torque, and four-wheel

and the only point that is missing is the traction control
