2002 Honda Accord
Wildly popular year after year, the sensible yet alluringly
contemporary 2002 Honda Accord Sedan gears up for another
successful season in its highly competitive segment
of the market. The attractive new 2002 Honda Accord
Sedan is versatile enough to handle the most demanding
requirements of busy families, and sophisticated enough
for younger drivers on the move.
To fulfill your particular driving and lifestyle needs,
the Honda Accord Sedan is offered in six different models
- the 2002 Honda Accord DX Sedan, Accord LX Sedan, Accord
Special Edition Sedan, Accord EX Sedan, Accord LX V6
Sedan, and Accord EX V6 Sedan. Each four-door model
ups the ante over the previous, adding key luxury, performance,
or safety features to the impressive base package.
Introducing the exciting 2002 line up is the Honda
Accord DX Sedan, sporting an AM/FM stereo cassette with
two speakers, front beverage holders and center console
armrest with storage compartments, a folding rear seatback,
and rear seat heater ducts. Air conditioning is available
as an option.
The 2002 Honda Accord DX motors along to the tune of
a 2.3-litre, 16-valve, SOHC, aluminum alloy four-cylinder
engine that produces 135 horsepower and 145 lbs-ft of
torque for good acceleration. Equipped with front-wheel
drive, this model offers a standard five-speed manual
transmission, multi-point fuel injection system, and
available four-speed automatic transmission. Every vehicle
is fitted with fourteen-inch wheels with full covers.
Of course, with families at the forefront of the 2002
Honda Accords design and technology, the base
model DX is loaded with standard safety measures. Among
the notable basics are an ignition immobilizer, driver
air bag, passenger air bag, three-point seatbelts at
all seating positions, child safety locks, and child
seat tethers and anchors.
The 2002 Honda Accord LX Sedan takes the extensive
entry-level model and makes the key additions of fifteen-inch
wheels, cruise control, power windows, power door locks,
air conditioning, and dual power outside mirrors. The
audio system has been upgraded to include a CD player
with six powerful speakers, and rear passengers are
treated to a center armrest. And in the performance
department, the LX speeds down the highway with 150
horsepower thanks to the 16-valve VTEC engine. ABS brakes
have also been added to this package.
Next in the 2002 line up, the Accord Special Edition
goes even further, boasting a standard four-speed automatic
transmission, fifteen-inch alloy wheels, power drivers
seat, a simulated wood grain interior trim, in-dash
CD changer, and a power moonroof.
For those really looking to drive in style and comfort,
take a good look at the Honda Accord EX Sedan. This
model is graced with a leather-wrapped steering wheel,
8-way power drivers seat with adjustable lumbar
support, interior leather trim, and multi-reflector
halogen headlights with auto-off feature. And for increased
safety, the EX is equipped with dual side impact air
bags.
Pushing performance up a notch, the Honda Accord LX
V6 Sedan headlines a 3.0-litre, 24-valve VTEC, six-cylinder
engine that cranks out 200 horsepower and 195 lbs-ft
of torque. Four-speed automatic transmission is standard,
along with features such as dual side impact air bags,
8-way power drivers seat with lumbar adjustment,
and an AM/FM stereo with CD player and six speakers.
Topping it all off for the year, the Honda Accord EX-V6
builds on the base EX model, but also features the more
powerful engine. Among the other bonuses of this sedan
are leather upholstery, 4-way power passenger seat,
automatic air conditioning, steering wheel-mounted audio
controls, and a HomeLink Remote System.
