2002 Honda Prelude reviews and buying guide.

2002 Honda Prelude

For those of you with a yen for performance and sporty good looks while basking in the lap of luxury, you’ll love the new 2002 Honda Prelude Coupe. Rigid cornering, superior four-wheel independent suspension, and a powerful aluminum VTEC engine will make your heart race.

Two models are offered for the year 2002, the Honda Prelude Coupe and Honda Prelude SE Coupe. Lower to the ground and wide of stance, these two-door performance cars have a seating capacity of four passengers. For those toting around the kids, child safety seat tether anchors have been added as of last year.

In addition to the child seat anchors, the Honda Prelude Coupe is equipped with three-point seat belts, ABS brakes, driver air bag, passenger air bag, remote keyless entry system, and ECU immobilizer system.

The Honda Prelude Coupe features an impressive VTEC engine with 2.2-litre, DOHC, 16 valves, 200 horsepower, and 156 lbs-ft of torque. Although the standard transmission is five-speed manual, the optional automatic transmission is highly responsive and rivals the manual version.

Drive type is front wheel, and the front brakes are power-assisted ventilated disc while the rear brakes are power-assisted solid disc. The front and rear independent double-wishbone suspension with trailing arms and coil springs create an enjoyable, sporty ride - especially on twisting stretches on road.

Moving on to luxuries, the Honda Prelude Coupe is jammed with comforts such as air conditioning, AM/Fm stereo with CD player and six speakers, audio anti-theft, cruise control, two-stage power door locks, power windows, and color-keyed heated dual power mirrors.

Numerous aesthetic upgrades complete the sporty yet elegant image, while inside a six-way adjustable driver seat, other interior conveniences, and cosmetic touches augment the luxurious feel.
