2002 Mazda 626

In the mid-size sedan market, the Mazda 626 Sedan has quietly held its own against both domestic and foreign competitors. The four models it carries for 2002 - 626 LX Sedan, 626 LX-V6 Sedan, 626 ES Sedan, and 626 ES-V6 Sedan offer enough variety to fulfill your standards for luxury, performance, and practicality.

The entry-level Mazda 626 LX Sedan starts off with dual second-generation driver side air bag and passenger side air bag. Side impact air bags and ABS brakes are available in packages, and child safety locks in the rear are standard.

In the cabin, passengers will enjoy air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, keyless entry system, and dual power mirrors. The 60/40 split folding rear seat is useful when you need extra space for sports equipment, luggage, and the like. You will also appreciate the AM/FM stereo with CD player for your journeys.

Heated door mirrors, power glass moonroof with ventilation feature, theft deterrent system, and six-way power driver’s seat are all available as options. There is ample room for five passengers to be seated comfortably, with four-door entry and a large trunk.

As for performance, the Mazda 626 LX sports a 2.0-litre DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder engine that provides 125 horsepower and 127 lb-ft of torque. This model is fitted with all-season radials, and is front wheel drive. The estimated fuel economy rating checks in at 26/32 (city/hwy).

Up to the next level, the Mazda 626 LX-V6 Sedan sees an increase to a 2.5-litre engine with DOHC, 24 valves, and six cylinders. The result is 165 horsepower and 161 lb-ft of torque for a much better highway drive. All other performance, safety, and luxury features reflect the base model.
