Nissan introduces the
new 2002 Frontier Pickup Truck with quite a bit of confidence
up against the big competitors, offering high-quality
pickups with lots of choices. Four models are available:
Frontier XE King Cab, Frontier XE-V6 King Cab, Frontier
SE-V6 King Cab, and Frontier S/C King Cab.
Beginning with the Nissan
Frontier XE King Cab, a look under the hood reveals
a 2.4-litre, SOHC, 16-valve, six-cylinder engine with
143 horsepower and 154 lbs-ft of torque. Standard transmission
is five-speed manual, with optional four-speed automatic
transmission.
As for safety, the Frontier
XE King Cab is armed with rear wheel ABS brakes, front
crumple zones, steel side door beams, driver depowered
air bag, and passenger depowered air bag. The passenger
air bag features a cut-off switch.
The interior of this
entry-level model features an array basic controls and
conveniences, but leaves the bigger stuff to the rest
of the model line up.

The Nissan Frontier XE-V6
King Cab takes the base model and beefs it up with a
3.3-litre, SOHC, 12-valve, six-cylinder engine with
170 horsepower and 200 lbs-ft of torque. Further upgrades
include four-wheel ABS brakes, limited slip differential,
and four-wheel drive for tougher driving demands.

Next, the Nissan Frontier
SE-V6 King Cab makes four-speed automatic transmission
a standard, along with sixteen-inch aluminum alloy wheels
and front fog lights. The steering wheel is wrapped
stylishly in leather, and passengers will enjoy the
comforts of air conditioning while cruising to the tune
of an AM/FM stereo with CD player and four speakers.

Finishing up the 2002
Nissan line up of pickup trucks, the Frontier S/C King
Cab features a powerful supercharged 3.3-litre, SOHC,
12-valve, six-cylinder engine that packs 210 horsepower
and 246 lbs-ft of torque. This model has standard five-speed
manual transmission and optional automatic.
Other features that have
been added are a sport-calibrated suspension, seventeen-inch
alloy wheels, dual power mirrors, cruise control, keyless
entry system, power door locks, and power windows.
