2002 Pontiac Firebird Convertible:

Bold and exciting, the new 2002 Pontiac Firebird Convertible packs a lot of juice under its hood and boasts an impressive list of comforts and conveniences. Two models are available this year - the Pontiac Firebird Convertible and the Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Convertible - each with two doors and seating for four passengers.

Proceeding with the impressive performance specifications first, the rear wheel drive Pontiac Firebird Convertible features a six-cylinder engine with sequential port fuel injection, and center of vee camshaft. The pleasant result is 200 horsepower and 225 lbs-ft of torque, making for an exceptional drive.

The Pontiac Firebird Convertible is equipped with standard four-speed automatic transmission, and fuel economy checks in around 19/30 (city/hwy). Each vehicle is built with touring radial tires.

An array of safety features includes standards such as ABS brakes, front fog lights, and front head restraints. A passenger depowered air bag and driver depowered air bag are also basics on the list. Traction control is available for an added measure of safety as an option.

Luxuries are generous in the Pontiac Firebird Convertible, and range from a retractable convertible top to cruise control, air conditioning, and an AM/FM stereo with CD player. The features and benefits continue with power door locks, dual power outside mirrors, power windows, and a sliding rear window.

A theft deterrent system is included in the package as well, along with a convenient keyless entry system and a folding rear seat for that extra set of golf clubs. Limited slip differential comes in a package, and fine leather upholstery is offered to you as an option.

Base invoice price: $24,366
Base list price: $26,630

The Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Convertible rolls all of the previous model’s features and rolls in upgrades such as all-season performance SBR tires, and a revved-up eight-cylinder engine that explodes with 310 horsepower and 340 lbs-ft of serious torque. A leather interior also becomes a standard for a premium interior finish.

Base invoice price: $29,060
Base list price: $31,760
