2002 Saturn SL:
The new 2002 Saturn SL Sedan is
a practical solution for family, work, and play. With
a seating capacity of five passengers, this four-door
sedan has terrific fuel economy and zips around the
city quite pleasantly. Priced reasonably, the Saturn
SL Sedan would make a great choice for those looking
for their first car or families thinking of purchasing
a second vehicle.
In the performance department, the
Saturn SL Sedan is equipped with a 1.9-litre, four-cylinder
engine with single overhead camshaft, eight valves,
and sequential port fuel injection system. The engine
has an output in the neighborhood of 110 horsepower
and 114 lbs-ft of torque.
Standard transmission is five-speed
manual, making the most out of the engines capacities
when accelerating to pass or merge. The brakes are power-assisted
front disc and rear drum, and the four-wheel independent
suspension makes for a fairly smooth ride overall.
Each Saturn SL Sedan is fitted with
all-season SBR tires for a firm grip on the roads year
round. Full wheel covers come with the package.
As far as safety is concerned, the
Saturn SL Sedan is bolstered by its steel spaceframe
construction, side impact protection, and both front
and rear crumple zones. For those with children, youll
be pleased to know that the rear seating area has child
safety locks installed.
Passengers are protected by front
and rear head restraints, a driver depowered air bag,
passenger depowered air bag, and three-point seatbelts
at all seating positions except the center back seat
which has a lapbelt.
Comforts and conveniences are numerous,
and include such standards as a 60/40 split folding
rear seat to accommodate extra cargo and longer items
that are difficult to fit in a regular-sized trunk.
The steering column can be adjusted to fit your height,
and the front bucket seats recline and have integrated
headrests.
Each Saturn SL Sedan also comes
with basic features that include a front center console
with a 12-volt power outlet, storage compartment, and
four cupholders. There are also cupholders and map pockets
incorporated into the doors.
To make life easier, it is equipped
with little extras that certainly come in handy, such
as remote hood, trunk, and duel filler lid releases.
The trunklid has a release disable switch and the backs
of the seats lock so that you can stow your luggage
and other belongings securely.
Finishing it all off, the Saturn
SL Sedan features an AM/FM stereo with CD player for
your driving enjoyment.
