2002 Saturn SL1:

The attractive new 2002 Saturn SL1 Sedan sports a stylish appearance along with a variety of performance, safety, and luxury features. Assigned to an affordable price bracket, this four-door sedan has a seating capacity of five passengers and good overall handling.

Beginning with safety first, the Saturn SL1 Sedan is armed with front and rear crumple zones, side impact protection, and a steel spaceframe construction. Standards include a driver depowered air bag, passenger depowered air bag, three-point seatbelts, and a lapbelt in the rear center position.

The Saturn SL1 Sedan’s trunk has an emergency interior release handle, and both front and rear adjustable head restraints for the prevention of injury. Child safety locks have been installed in every vehicle with families in mind.

For models with power window options, a rear window cut-off switch comes as a standard to prevent little fingers from getting caught.

In the performance arena, the Saturn SL1 Sedan is built with a 1.9-litre, eight-valve engine with single overhead camshaft, and a sequential port fuel injection system, combining to produce 100 horsepower and 114 lbs-ft of torque. With four-wheel independent suspension and power-assisted front disc and rear drum brakes, it performs smoothly and efficiently.

The Saturn SL1 sedan rolls along on all-season SBR tires with full wheel covers, and is equipped with front wheel drive. Standard transmission is five-speed manual, with automatic transmission available as an option.

The fuel economy rating is estimated at 29/40 mpg (city/hwy) for the manual, while the automatic checks in at 27/37 mpg (city/hwy) - not bad at all and worth it over the long run.

The interior of the new Saturn SL1 Sedan is graced with standard luxuries such as an AM/FM stereo with four speakers, and handy items like a 60/40 split folding rear seat that allows you to throw in more cargo and still seat passengers in the back.

Other comforts and conveniences include a front center console with a 12-volt power outlet and four cupholders, remote trunk release, adjustable steering wheel and front bucket seats, and a host of other functional features.

To protect the exterior for years to come, each Saturn SL1 Sedan is built with corrosion and dent resistant polymer bodyside panels.
