2002 Toyota Camry Solara Coupe

For those who want all of the quality, performance, and luxury features of the most popular family sedan but in a more sporty package, check out the new 2002 Toyota Camry Solara Coupe. With sleek, sexy lines and a reputation made strong by Toyota’s history of producing excellent vehicles with high resale value, the 2002 Camry Coupe mounts a formidable challenge to the other vehicles in its class.

Three models are available for the year 2002, including the new Camry Solara SE Coupe, Camry Solara SE V6 Coupe, and Camry Solara SLE V6 Coupe. Each vehicle has two-door entry and a seating capacity of five passengers, making them viable options for those with children and busy lives. The variety of performance and luxury features provides a broad spectrum of choice to suit your individual needs.

Starting off with the base model Toyota Camry Solara SE Coupe, we find a 2.4-litre DOHC 16-valve VVT-i four-cylinder engine with 157 horsepower. Fuel delivery comes through a sequential port fuel injection system, drive type is two-wheel front, and standard transmission is five-speed manual. Automatic transmission is available as an option. The suspension is comprised of MacPherson struts with gas-filled shock absorbers, and each car travels along on all-season SBR tires. Specifications include an estimated fuel economy rating of 23/32 (city/hwy) for manual transmission, and automatic transmission changes it very little at 23/30 (city/hwy).

The Toyota Camry Solara SE Coupe takes safety several steps above the average entry-level vehicle. Standards include a driver side air bag, passenger side air bag, both front and rear head restraints, three-point seatbelts at all seating positions, and a child restraint system. As well, each vehicle comes with the options of ABS brakes and side impact air bags.

As for luxury, you’ll be pleasantly surprised again with the extensive comforts and conveniences. The Camry Solara SE Coupe features air conditioning, cruise/speed control, power door locks, dual power mirrors, power windows, and an AM/FM stereo with CD player. The rear seat folds down to accommodate all your luggage and leisure gear, and a keyless entry system is available as a package. Options include a moonroof, 8-way adjustable driver’s seat, and a rear spoiler.

The Toyota Camry Solara SE V6 Coupe brings with it an upgrade to a 3.0-litre DOHC 24-valve EFI six-cylinder engine featuring 198 horsepower. Mileage is estimated at 20/27 (city/hwy). As with the previous model, the standard transmission is five-speed manual, with four-speed automatic available as an option. Additional standard features include ABS brakes for maximum control in emergency situations.

Combining all of the luxury, performance, and safety features of the previous model, the Toyota Camry Solara SLE V6 Coupe adds to the impressive package a convenient keyless entry system, a theft deterrent system, and the extra safety option of traction control. With all this style, functionality, and a plethora of all-around features, the Camry Solara SLE V6 Coupe is tough to beat and comes at a very reasonable price.
