2002 Toyota Tundra Overview

Sturdy and sound of quality and endurance, the new 2002 Toyota Tundra is offered in six different models to suit your work and lifestyle needs. Choose from Tundra Regular Cab, Tundra Access SR5 Extended Cab, Tundra SR5 4WD Extended Cab, Tundra Access SRT 4WD Extended Cab, Tundra Access Limited Extended Cab, and Tundra Access Limited 4WD Extended Cab.

At the start of the 2002 line up, the Toyota Tundra Regular Cab has two doors, seating for three passengers, and a wide variety of optional comforts and conveniences.

Safety standards include a driver depowered air bag, passenger depowered air bag, and front hear restraints. The passenger air bag has been equipped with a cut-off switch. Options listed are ABS brakes and front fog lights.

The Tundra Regular Cab is built with a solid six-cylinder engine with DOHC, electronic fuel injection, 190 horsepower, and 220 lbs-ft of torque. The towing capacity is around 5,250 lbs, and the vehicle holds the ground with mud and snow SBR tires.

Standard transmission is five-speed manual, with automatic transmission offered as an option.

The two-door Toyota Tundra Access SR5 Extended Cab follows and increases the seating capacity to six passengers. Power door locks, dual power mirrors, power windows, folding rear seat, and an AM/FM stereo with CD player are available as packages. Limited slip differential is optional.

Third in line, the Toyota Tundra SR5 4WD Regular Cab takes the original base package and adds cruise control, and the increased power and control of four-wheel on-demand drive. It also has the same options and packages as the second model outlined above. One key difference is a switch to four-speed automatic transmission.

The Toyota Tundra Access SR5 4WD Extended Cab rolls all the feature of the previous model into one package that includes five-speed manual transmission, four-wheel on-demand drive, seating for six, and a folding rear seat.

Number five in the model selection is the Toyota Tundra Access Limited Extended Cab, with two doors, room for six passengers, and standards such as ABS brakes and front fog lights. The big change is the upgrade to an eight-cylinder DOHC engine with 245 horsepower and 315 lbs-ft of torque. The towing capacity is 7,200 lbs.

At the top of the line up, the Toyota Tundra Access Limited 4WD Extended Cab really beefs things up with all the many features outlined previously and the addition of four-wheel on-demand drive.
