The new round of 2002
Volkswagen Jetta Sedans continues to impress its discerning
followers with its extensive all-around quality and
sophistication. Its solid European design and engineering
leave the competition little room to move, and the 2002
Volkswagen Jetta carries with it a fair bit of status.

This year, five models
are offered: The 2002 Volkswagen Jetta GL Sedan, Volkswagen
Jetta GLS Sedan, Volkswagen Jetta GL TDi Sedan, Volkswagen
GLS 1.8T Sedan, and the 2992 Volkswagen Jetta GLS VR6
Sedan. Each of these 2002 models has a seating capacity
of five passengers, and has four doors making it a convenient
choice for those with busy lives.
Beginning with the 2002
Volkswagen Jetta GL Sedan safety features, standards
such as driver side air bag, passenger side air bag,
side impact air bags, and both front and rear head restraints
are included. Other important items that come with the
base Volkswagen Jetta model package are ABS brakes for
maximum control, and child safety locks for those with
youngsters in the rear of the vehicle.
Under the hood, the 2002
Volkswagen Jetta GL Sedan is built with a four-cylinder
engine with SOHC, 115 horsepower, and 122 lbs-ft of
torque. It accelerates well, especially with the five-speed
transmission. Automatic transmission is available as
an option, and is responsive on the highways as well.
The fuel economy rating is estimated to be 24/31 (city/hwy).
Each vehicle is front wheel drive.
In the luxury department,
the 2002 Volkswagen Jetta GL Sedan is loaded with amenities
like air conditioning, a handy keyless entry system,

GL TDi Sedan, features a switch to a turbo diesel SOHC
with 90 horsepower and 155 lbs-ft of torque and an incredible
savings due to the fuel economy rating of 42/49 (city/hwy).
As well, Volkswagen has added traction control to the
package.

At the higrst end of
the 2002 line up, the GLS 1.8T Sedan features an upgrade
to the engine, which uses turbo gas and subsequently
boosts the performance to 180 horsepower with 174 lbs-ft
of torque.

Finishing up the models
is the GLS VR6, with a six-cylinder engine with DOHC,
174 horsepower, and 181 lbs-ft of torque. Packed with
all of the safety and luxury features of the previous
four models, the Jetta GLS VR6 is a terrific value that
