2002 Volkswagen Passat

One of Volkswagen’s steady successes over the years, the Passat Sedan is introduced for the year 2002 with three different models, 2002 Volkswagen Passat GLS 1.8T Sedan, Volkswagen Passat GLS V6 Sedan, and Volkswagen Passat GLX V6 Sedan. Offering high quality design and engineering and a variety of choices, you can opt for the vehicle that suits your needs best without being restricted. Each of the Passat models has four doors and seating for five passengers.

At the head of the list, the Volkswagen Passat GLS 1.8T Sedan starts off with a wide list of luxuries including air conditioning, cruise control, keyless entry system, and a folding rear seat to fit all of your stuff. Volkswagen goes on to pack in power door locks, dual power mirrors, power windows, AM/FM stereo with CD player, and a series of other comforts and conveniences. A moonroof/sunroof is available as a package, as is the luxury of fine leather upholstery.

We move on to safety issues, where Volkswagen builds the Passat GLS 1.8T Sedan with limited slip differential, child safety locks, front fog lights, and traction control. Other features include driver side, passenger side, and side impact air bags. ABS brakes and both front and rear head restraints are all part of this extremely well thought out design.

As for exceptional performance, the Passat GLS 1.8T Sedan offers a four-cylinder engine with variable timing DOHC, sequential port fuel injection, and 170 horsepower using turbo gas. The fuel economy rating is 22/31 (city/hwy). The vehicle rolls down the streets and highways on all-season SBR tires, and drive type is front wheel. Transmission is five-speed manual with automatic transmission available as an option.

Base invoice price: $19,790
Base list price: $21,750

Enter the second model, the GLS V6 Sedan, which upgrades the engine to a six-cylinder machine with an output of 190 horsepower and 206 lbs-ft of torque using regular gas. All other safety and luxury features match those of the base model point for point.

Base invoice price: $22,049
Base list price: $24,250

Finishing off this year’s impressive line up is the GLX V6, which adds a moonroof/sunroof and the stylish touch of high quality grain leather upholstery to the fine package.

Base invoice price: $26,114
Base list price: $28,750
