2003 Acura NSX reviews and buying guide.

2003 Acura NSX resources:

2003 Acura NSX

The 2003 Acura NSX is a high-performing sports car from Honda's premier division. Acura is known for starting with the durable and functional aspects that define all Honda vehicles and heaping on the comfort, bolstering the performance and smoothing out the style. The Acura NSX is no different from other Acura models in this respect, though it does offer perhaps the most heart-pounding excitement of the lot.

Described as a supercar, the NSX sets very high standards for itself, and more often than not achieves them with flying colors. It has a precision-crafted engineering system that results in wonderful handling characteristics and high-octane power. Offered in two models, each with a separate engine and transmission system, the two-door, two-passenger NSX doesn't hide the fact that it is built for speed.

Under the Hood

It isn't hard to realize that manufacturers see the NSX's performance as its main feature. In this vein they offer two distinct, mid-ship mounted powertrains. The first is a lightweight, all-aluminum 3.2-liter, 24-valve, 90-degree V6 engine mated to a 6-speed, close-ratio manual transmission. It produces 290 horsepower and 224 lb-ft of torque. The second is a 3.0-liter, 24-valve V-6 engine with a 4-speed automatic transmission that pumps out 252 horsepower and delivers 210 lb-ft of torque.

The chassis of 2003 Acura NSX features an all-aluminum unit body construction that is 40 percent lighter than before. Its 4-wheel independent double-wishbone suspension has aluminum-alloy control arms and hub carriers that provide optimum handling. For safety, the NSX is equipped with large-diameter, ventilated four-wheel disc brakes and dual front airbags.

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

If the weather's nice, the roof panel of the 2003 NSX can be removed. The NSX certainly looks like a sports car with a body integrated rear spoiler and airfoil, power operated sideview mirrors and Xenon High-Intensity Discharge projector-beam headlights. Both NSX models have a hand-stitched leather interior with power seats. Additional interior features include automatic climate control, cruise control, power windows and door locks and a Bose music system.

Because there will be a lot of jealous onlookers, the 2003 Acura NSX comes with an antitheft system with electronic immobilizer.

With the NSX, you get up to speed at the blink of an eye, and once there you can hang with fastest cars on the road.
