2003 BMW Z4
The Z4 has a couple of different models available to
the sports car buyers out there. The Z-Series includes
the 2003 BMW Z4, an awesome performance vehicle with
a couple of different engine options that determine
the Z4 2.5i or the Z4 3.0i. It also has the 2003 BMW
Z8, the most expensive, exquisitely designed and high
profile BMW in the world. The Z3, last years model has
been replaced and superceded by the Z4, which has no
coupe version but a choice between power or manual soft-top
convertible roof.
These cars hold fantastic appeal for the sports car
buying public because of their speed, razor sharp handling
and firmness. This is certainly true but it is also
true that the timeless style and instantly recognizable
profile plays a big role.
These are classic cars with collectible pedigrees but,
unlike the Z8, the Z4 is accessible to a much larger
demographic.
Under the Hood
The two inline 6-cylinder engines have returned this
year with the same power profile as they had in the
Z3. The Z4 25i is equipped with an inline V6 that produces
184 hp at 5500 rpm and 175 lb-ft of torque at 3500.
It can be equipped with either a 5-speed manual or a
5-speed automatic transmission. They are capable of
20/28 mpg (city/hwy) and 21/28 mpg, respectively.
The Z4 3.0i is equipped with an inline V6 that produces
225 hp at 5900 rpm and 214 lb-ft of torque at 3500.
It can be equipped with either a higher-cost 6-speed
manual or a 5-speed automatic transmission. They are
capable of 21/29 mpg (city/hwy) and 20/28 mpg, respectively.
The BMW Z4 has a cutting-edge array of technologies
to provide power management, preventative safety enhancement
and innovative passive safety features. The result is
a car that drives smoothly, corners with grace and agility
and maintains a maximum level of safety at all times.
These features include traction control, an antiskid
system, 4-wheel antilock disc brakes, active knee protection,
a tire-inflation monitor and run-flat 225/50VR16 tires.
Passive safety innovations add advanced airbag and seatbelt
technology.
Standard Features, Options Packages and Style
The Z4 has a level of standard luxury fittings that
includes air conditioning, vinyl upholstery on bucket
seats, power mirrors, windows, door locks, steering
and remote keyless entry. An AM/FM/CD player is also
standard, amongst other items.
Optional add-ons and packages allow the versatility
of this BMW to be broadened with even more consumer
choice.
