2003 BMW Z8 reviews and buying guide.

2003 BMW Z8 resources:

2003 BMW Z8

The 2003 BMW Z8 is the two-door, two-seater luxury sports car that sprang to prominence when James Bond drove it and people saw its classic lines, power and style up close. A power convertible soft-top with a removable hardtop, the Z8 is one of the world's ultimate cruisers.

The Z-Series ranges from the 2003 BMW Z4, an awesome performance vehicle with a couple of different engine options, to the Z8, the most expensive, exquisitely designed and high profile BMW in the world. In real terms, despite some outward similarities and the same prefix letter, these are two different cars altogether. They have different engines, body structures and interior amenities.

What is not different is the appeal they hold for the sports car buying public and their motivation, to have speed, razor sharp handling and firmness and finally, but not least, timeless style. The limited edition Z8 is a classic car with a fully collectible pedigree.

Under the Hood

The BMW Z8 has a monstrous ability and power profile. It takes 4.5 seconds to get from 0-60 and all of it smooth and unhurried. The sophisticated power management systems mean that drivers are not overwhelmed by the power in this car.

The technology will optimize the abilities of this vehicle and these are substantial. The result is a car that will optimize the driver's ability as well. In terms of specifications, the Z8 has a 4.9-liter V8 engine with 394 hp at 6600rpm and 368 lb-ft of torque at 3800 rpm.

The Z8 has dual front airbags, side airbags, roll bars, antilock 4-wheel disc brakes with brake assist, an antiskid system, traction control, a limited-slip differential and a tire-pressure monitor. It also comes with a standard 6-speed manual transmission, run-flat 245/45WR18 front tires and 275/40WR18 rear tires on alloy wheels.

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

The Z8 designers have kept the interior simple with a basic collection of amenities. On the Z8 this means air conditioning, leather upholstery, power steering, windows and door locks, heated power windows, remote keyless entry, tilt/telescoping leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, heated power bucket seats, navigation system, cellular telephone, automatic day/night rearview mirror, analog clock, outside-temperature display and a power convertible top. Just to name some highlights.

Optional packages add an assortment of choice for most BMW models but the Z8 has no factory options. They designed it to be complete as is.
