2003 Buick Century reviews and buying guide.

2003 Buick Century resources:

2003 Buick Century

The lowest-priced Buick in the mid-size car class, the 2003 Buick Century is a combination of comfort and value that doesn't stint on power, a rare combination. The base model of this North American-made four-door sedan is a solid and valuable vehicle for all sorts of folk who want a good car with no nonsense. The standard front bench seat means it will seat six or even, accommodate three in the front at the drive-in. That is- if you can find a drive-in in your town! The Limited options package adds to the base model with a variety of additional features.

Under the Hood

The 2003 Buick Century has a 3.1-liter V6 with an automatic transmission. This equates to 175 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 195 ft-lbs of torque at 4500 rpm. What it results in is a smooth ride, little road noise and quiet gear changes; comfort is the key here.

Safety was also a consideration in the design of the Century. Dual front airbags and daytime running lights and emergency inside trunk release are standard features of the base-model.

For additional safety, through the Limited options package, a driver's side airbag is also available along with antilock brakes, traction control and an automatic tire-pressure monitor.

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

As far as internal style goes, the 2003 Buick Century is loaded with standard comfort and convenience features: air conditioning with dual-zone manual climate control and interior air filter; power windows, steering, mirrors and door-locks; tilt steering; front split bench seat; front storage armrest; AM/FM radio and digital clock; rear defogger and automatic headlights; remote keyless entry and a theft deterrent system are all standard.

The Custom package offers cruise control, 6-way power driver seat, floor mats, cargo net, illuminated mirrors and, an AM/FM cassette with a better sound system.

Upgrade to the Limited option packages and you get all original standard features, everything the Custom package has to offer and, in addition, leather upholstery on the inside and chrome wheel covers on the outside.

The exterior styling has been refined slightly from last years model with a graphite and chrome grille and body-colored exterior trim.

All in all, a great car for the family that won't break the bank.
