2003 Buick Rendezvous reviews and buying guide.

2003 Buick Rendezvous resources:

2003 Buick Rendezvous

The 2003 Buick Rendezvous is the latest edition of the crossover vehicle that pushes the term versatility to its limit. Outwardly crafted as a midsize SUV, the Rendezvous has performance and toughness in combination with spaciousness and style. For 2003 the Rendezvous offers an available DVD system to add to the comfort of its seven-passenger seating. What remains is the unique blend of styles that have their origins in the SUV, minivan and sedan class of vehicles.

Rendezvous comes in base CX and uplevel CXL models. For busy families requiring a vehicle to satisfy their transportation needs, the Rendezvous is a perfect match. It has plenty of seating and cargo space to handle the load, while its flexibility allows it to cope with all the unexpected twists family life can bring.

Under the Hood

The engine under the hood of the 2003 Buick Rendezvous powers the midsize SUV exceedingly well. A 3.4-liter V6 with 185 horsepower, it has the sort of bite needed to transport whatever is in its hold. 4-speed manual transmission is standard, as are dual front airbags and daytime running lights.

GM's Versatrak all-wheel drive system is an option on both models. The system uses front drive under normal road conditions and adds torque to the rear wheels on slippery surfaces. With the all-wheel drive, Rendezvous is given additional front side airbags and antilock 4-wheel disc brakes.

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

Comfort is not an issue with the 2003 Buick Rendezvous. The CX model provides a healthy list of features, including AM/FM CD player, air conditioning, cruise control and tilt leather-wrapped steering wheel with radio controls. The CXL comes with the convenient OnStar system, leather upholstery, 6-way power seats and more. For 2003, the Rendezvous is also offered in two new colors: Cappuccino Frost and Light Spiral Gray.

For extra performance, owners can purchase a special trailer package which includes load-leveling suspension to maintain a steady ride when hauling heavy loads. For entertainment, a DVD passenger system is available. Additional comfort features include XM Satellite Radio, power sunroof and roof rack.

The race for crossover vehicle supremacy is on, and with all that it offers the 2003 Buick Rendezvous has to be considered one of the favorites.
