2003 Cadillac CTS reviews and buying guide.

2003 Cadillac CTS resources:

2003 Cadillac CTS

The 2003 Cadillac CTS is a new high quality vehicle with lots of power and comfort that make it a solid member of the near-luxury car class. This North American-made model replaces the German sourced Catera and gives consumers access to Cadillac style and quality with a more attainable price range for the average income. A Luxury Sport Package offers some enhancements to handling and drivability for those who want to optimize the driving experience.

Under the Hood

The 3.2-liter, V-6 engine that powers the 2003 Cadillac CTS gives it 220 horsepower at 6000 rpm. 220 ft-lbs of torque at 3400 rpm, the peak of the power band for this motor, will get you past that slow-moving tanker in a hurry, giving you solid acceleration power at highway speed, when you need it.

The CTS has standard antilock brakes and traction control, along with front side and curtain side air bags. A choice of manual or automatic transmission, both with five speeds, is a new feature from Cadillac and a switch, between Winter or Sport Modes, allows the driver to set responsiveness to their own preference.

The Luxury Sport Package has these feature plus sport suspension, load-leveling rear suspension, a Stabilitrak antiskid system, variable-assist power steering, upgraded brake pads, and bigger, 225/50VR17 tires, all contributing to a taut and agile curve-eater.

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

Also Standard on the base model CTS is an assortment of other features, including the OnStar assistance system, leather upholstery and much more. The various options packages include the major Luxury and Luxury Sport packages and there are many additional add-ons.

The Luxury Package includes the following: wood interior trim, compass, universal garage-door opener, digital memo recorder and a number of seating and memory features like an 8-way power passenger seat, memory driver seat and mirrors. The Luxury Sport Package has all these features plus the drivability enhancements mentioned above and polished alloy wheels add.

It is possible to add many more options. For example, a CD-Rom navigation system that includes Bose AM/FM/cassette w/in-dash 6-disc CD changer can be ordered on top of these packages, adding to the appearance, feel and personal style available in this great car.
