2003 Chevrolet Astro reviews and buying guide.

2003 Chevrolet Astro resources:

2003 Chevrolet Astro

The 2003 Chevrolet Astro continues in the tradition of its predecessors by returning to the two features that have made the model a standard in its class: affordability and dependability. Add in roominess, safety and towing power, and it's easy to see why the Chevrolet Astro has been a popular family minivan for years. For 2003, the Chevrolet Astro offers a downpriced base-trim model and an improved braking system to once again secure its place in the competitive minivan market.

Whether it's the base-trim model or the uplevel LS and LT packages, the 2003 Chevrolet Astro delivers all the essential features of a capable minivan. All models seat eight passengers comfortably and come with improved standard antilock brakes plus a full-power assist element for emergency stops and front/rear brake-force proportioning to ensure the most important feature of any vehicle, safety.

Under the Hood

With a standard 4.3 liter V-6 engine, the 2003 Chevrolet Astro can easily get up to speed no matter how much weight it's transporting. On all models, the 4-speed automatic transmission comes in Tow/Haul mode to maximize this power when needed. Owners can choose either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, depending on their preference.

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

The 2003 Chevrolet Astro comes in one body length with passenger-side sliding door. Dual front airbags and a theft-deterrent system are standard on all models. The eight passengers the Astro can seat are spaced on two front buckets and two 3-place rear benches; 2nd-row buckets are optional. Available at no charge are side-by-side rear cargo doors or Dutch doors with separate-opening upper glass. Astro also comes as a 2-seat Cargo Van.

All 2003 Chevrolet Astros go from 15- to 16-inch wheels, with standard alloys for LS and LT models. LS and LT interiors get smoother trim surfaces with energy-absorbent backing designed to reduce head injuries. Additional features for the LS and LT models include carpeting, remote keyless entry, power windows, doors and locks and an onboard trip computer.

The 2003 Chevrolet Astro offers an improved braking system and other practical features to last year's version. The result is yet another worthy model in the classic line of Astros.
