2003 Chevrolet Cavalier
The 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier combines a standard engine
on all its versions, a list of new safety features,
and a sporty exterior with the traditional dependability
of previous Cavalier models. This is just further proof
that manufacturers want to ensure the Cavalier will
take you where you want to go safely and comfortably,
with a modest dose of style thrown in for good measure.
The 2003 Cavalier is offered in a two-door coupe or
a four-door sedan in one of three versions: base, LS
and LS Sport. While the same engine is now extended
across all three versions, the LS and LS Sport have
an advanced suspension system for greater handling.
All three also boast a nice number of standard features
and additional options. The LS and LS Sport go one step
further with the availability of the highly sophisticated
service of the OnStar System.
Under the Hood
For 2003 each version of the Cavalier comes equipped
with the confident Ecotec 2.2-liter L4 engine, capable
of 140 hp at 5600rpm and 150lb-ft of torque at 4000rpm.
This translates into one thing: the Cavalier will have
no shortage of power, both for easy passing and family
driving. 4-speed automatic transmission and 5-speed
manual transmission are available on all versions. For
safety, the Cavalier comes standard with center-rear
3-point seat belt and LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers
for Children) child restraints.
The LS and LS Sport versions come with the advanced
FE2 Sport Suspension System, providing better cornering
and driver feedback.
Standard Features, Options Packages and Style
In addition to a number of standard comfort features,
the 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier boasts a fresh new exterior
on all versions. With new front and rear fascia, headlamps
and taillamps and styled ground effects, owners of the
2003 Cavalier can rest assured they have a unique vehicle
unlike any of its predecessors. There are also three
new optimistic colors to choose from: Olympic White,
Arrival Blue and Victory Red.
For all versions of the 2003 Cavalier, there are some
appealing options to further the driving experience.
Four-wheel antilock brakes and side impact airbags add
even more protection to the already secure standard
package. For style and comfort needs, chrome aluminum
wheels and the XM Satellite Radio system, featuring
100 coast-to-coast digital channels, fit the bill.
On the LS and LS Sport versions there is the additional
availability of the OnStar package, which includes automatic
notification of air bag deployment and emergency services
dispatch, as well as OnStar Concierge and OnStar Personal
Calling services.
