2003 Chevrolet Impala
For 2003, the Chevrolet Impala introduces a new set
of standard features, new wheels, and a range of new
colors to choose from. What remains is the affordability
and dependability that have made the Impala a best-selling
passenger car for years. Impala has the highest fuel
economy of any V6 in the industry and a suspension system
that translates into a smooth, comfortable ride over
any distance. With the ability to sit six, the Impala
is perfect for families who are in need of a car that
will perform without any unnecessary hassles.
The four-door Impala comes in a base model and an uplevel
LS model. The LS provides a bit more power with its
engine, as well as a few more comfort features, but
prospective buyers will find quality and class in whatever
model they choose.
Under the Hood
The base version of the 2003 Chevrolet Impala comes
with a 3.4-liter V6, while the LS has a slightly beefier
3.8-liter V6. Either way, the Impala gets up to speed
quickly and efficiently, making both city and highway
driving a snap. Both models come with 4-speed automatic
transmission and front-wheel drive. Also included in
both models are dual front airbags and a theft-deterrent
system.
The LS offers a little more in the way of performance,
with antilock brakes (optional on the base model), Sport
Touring Suspension, and traction control. This gives
the LS a slight edge in terms of handling, though the
base model by no means fails to impress in this department.
Standard Features, Options Packages and Style
Accompanying the base model are the new standard features
of remote keyless entry and differentiated, 16-inch
five-spoke aluminum wheels. The LS comes with cruise
control, front bucket seats and six-way power driver
seat. In terms of style, the Impala offers a number
of new colors to choose from, including Superior Blue,
Berry Red Metallic, Victory Red and Cappuccino Frost
Metallic.
There are a number of convenience packages that are
available with the 2003 Impala sedan models. From the
OnStar System to XM Satellite Radio and steering wheel
radio controls, owners will find a variety ways to spice
up their Impalas.
The result, quite simply, is yet another dependable
and comfortable car worthy of the name Impala.
