2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer reviews and buying guide.

2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer resources:

2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer

The 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer comes in a wide variety of models to cater to people in the market for a healthy mid-size SUV. As a 4-door wagon, the Trailblazer seats five easily, with plenty of space left over for whatever needs to go in the back. Add in a powerful engine, a nice array of safety and convenience features, and an even larger list of options and models, and families will be content to have to choose from this prestigious lineup of performance-driven SUVs.

For 2003 the Trailblazer is offered in LS, LT and LTZ models, each with an increasing amount of standard goods for those who like extreme comfort and a multitude of convenience gadgets. Of course, each model has either 2WD or 4WD configuration for those who want to tread off the beaten path and experience a different sort of driving pleasure. The 2003 is also offered in a special North Face Edition, which adds a number of practical features for the outdoor lover.

Under the Hood

All models possess a Vortec 4.2-liter/ 256-cu. inch I6 with 275 horsepower at 6000rpm and 275lb-ft of torque at 3600rpm. This translates into one thing: 2003 Trailblazer owners certainly won't be getting stuck in the mud, nor will they have trouble transporting their families around. Also standard is GM's proven Hydra-Matic 4L60-E four-speed automatic transmission. With the durability and toughness of a strong Chevy Truck, owners can also bank on a long life for their Trailblazers.

A safe environment is ensured with Trailblazer's sturdy construction and advanced braking system. Standard with all models are four-wheel vented disc antilock brakes with front aluminum dual piston calipers, as well as dual-stage airbags for front seating positions. Side-impact airbags for front seating positions are also available.

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

Beginning with the base LS and moving up to the loaded LTZ, the 2003 Tracker provides an incremental increase in the number of standard features. The LS is no dump truck though, as it comes with AM/FM CD player, air conditioning with dual-zone controls, front bucket seats and more. The LT throws in more standards, including cruise control and a roof rack, while the LTZ provides the OnStar system, steering-wheel radio and climate controls, and host of others.

The North Face Edition tailors to the outdoorsman. On the exterior, it adds such things as lower accent-color body cladding, body-colored outside rear-view mirrors, running lamps, liftgate luggage lamp, and even a clothesline. The interior is decked out with North Face seats, mesh map pockets, rain-sense wipers, liftgate lighting, underfloor storage cargo liner, and North Face duffel bags and blanket.

There is something for everyone with the 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Offering power, performance, comfort and reliability, this mid-size SUV is sure to catch the eye.
