2003 Chrysler Voyager reviews and buying guide.

2003 Chrysler Voyager resources:

2003 Chrysler Voyager

The Voyager is the less expensive of Chrysler's two minivans (the other being the luxury Town & Country), offering exceptional value without deleting convenient appointments. Practical and safe, the Voyager is designed for long rides and an even longer life. With a roomy interior, the Voyager will seat seven and still has room in the rear for excess cargo.

The Voyager has the practical feature of two sliding side doors. Power operation for one or both side doors is available and includes a manual override that allows them to be closed or opened by hand during the powered phase. There are two Voyager models to choose from: base and LX. Both are equipped for everyday driving, from point A to B to C and to anywhere else you need to go.

Under the Hood

The entry-level configuration of the 2003 Chrysler Voyager comes with a 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder engine that is capable of up to 150 horsepower. LX models add more beef under the hood with a 3.3-liter V6 that delivers 180 horsepower. Both engines are mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. The 4-cylinder gets 20/24 mpg (city/hwy), while the V6 has a fuel rating of 18/24 (city/hwy).

Like the Town & Country, the Chrysler Voyager does a thorough job addressing safety. Among the features in this regard are driver and passenger airbags with multi-stage inflators, a front seat belt system with pretensioners and constant-force retractors, head injury protection for occupants in all seating positions and stiff body structure for added impact resistance.

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

Entry-level Voyagers are equipped with front air conditioning, power steering, cloth upholstery, front bucket seats, center console, cupholders, 2nd-row two-passenger bench seat, 3rd-row three-passenger bench seat, AM/FM/cassette and digital clock. The uplevel LX model adds more premium features, including a number of minivan-firsts. These include a power sliding door obstacle detection system for opening and closing and split 50/50 roller seats.

Another item available with LX models is a rear-seat video system. Sure to be a hit with the kids, it features a DVD player with radio frequency-controlled wireless headphones.

The 2003 Chrysler Voyager is a practical minivan that comes at a very reasonable price.
