2003 Dodge Stratus Sedan reviews and buying guide.

2003 Dodge Stratus Sedan

Brother to the two-door coupe model, the 2003 Dodge Stratus Sedan offers the additional practicality of a four-door body frame. With many different models to choose from, each with an individual appeal, the Stratus sedan lineup is thoroughly impressive. However, what all models share is a similar set of trademark Stratus attributes, including crisp handling, power and a muscular design.

New to the Stratus sedan family is an SXT model, which rounds in as a value-packed vehicle with plenty of standard appointments. With the SXT, the Stratus sedan is given a four-pronged model lineup: SE, SXT, ES and R/T. All models seat five and come well equipped under a reasonable price.

Under the Hood

SE and SXT models are given the same confident engine. It is a 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder model with 150 horsepower. ES and R/T models come with a slightly more powerful 2.7-liter V6 engine providing 200 horsepower (optional with SE models). The 4-cylinder engine in SE and SXT models is mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission system, while the V6 also offers 5-speed manual.

An AutoStick® feature is optional on the Stratus R/T. It provides drivers the control of a manual transmission shifter with the convenience of an automatic transaxle. For safety, the Stratus sedan provides an advanced occupant restraint system, a rigid body structure and trim for improved impact protection, internal trunk latch release, best-in-class brakes with optional antilock brakes (standard with the R/T) and optional side airbag curtains.

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

There is enough interior space in the rear seat of the Stratus sedan to seat five adults comfortably. SE models come with air conditioning, power steering, tilt steering wheel, cruise control, cloth upholstery, height-adjustable driver seat, center console, AM/FM cassette and digital clock. The SXT features power mirrors, remote keyless entry, AM/FM/CD player and automatic-off headlights, while the ES adds an 8-way power driver seat with lumbar adjustment, illuminated visor mirrors and a trip computer. At the top of the line, the R/T features an upgraded sound system for pure listening pleasure.

There are many options that can be added to the 2003 Stratus sedan. A power sunroof is available across most models, while special paint will touch up the sedan and give it a distinguished look.

A good value with a well-balanced set of features, the 2003 Dodge Stratus Sedan will last awhile without breaking the bank.
