2003 GMC Yukon XL Denali
The 2003 Yukon XL Denali adds more than a foot of extra
room to the already spacious interior of the Denali.
The result is a wheelbase of 130 inches and an overall
length of 219 inches. Needless to say, there shouldn't
be any lack of legroom in this premium full-size SUV.
The XL Denali offers the same type of refinement and
comfort as the regular length Denali, as well as all
the performance attributes that set the two apart from
the rest of the SUV pack. For 2003, the improvements
come in abundance, including in a safer, more comfortable
interior, upgraded infotainment systems and more efficient
engines.
Under the Hood
The standard engine on the 2003 XL Denali is the same
as that found on the regular length Denali. It is a
Vortec 6.0-liter V8 with 320 horsepower, coupled with
4-speed automatic transmission. A new Borg-Warner one-speed
full-time, open differential transfer case, replacing
the previous viscous-coupled transfer case, improves
fuel economy and permits greater and more flexible torque
transfer. Its 40-percent front/60-percent rear bias
ratio also increases front torque for more yaw stability.
Autoride suspension and load-leveling rear suspension
provide a smooth ride over any surface.
For safety, the XL Denali is well equipped with HydroBoost
hydraulic power, four-wheel disc, four-wheel antilock
brakes with dual piston calipers, Dynamic Rear Proportioning
and brake proportioning differential valve. An advanced
dual-level occupant sensing airbag system and the StabiliTrak
stability enhancement system round out the security
features.
Standard Features, Options Packages and Style
The 2003 Denali and XL Denali raise the bar in terms
of comfort. A smarter, multiplexed electrical architecture,
cruise control, XM Satellite Radio, the OnStar system
with one year service, leather upholstery, 10-way power
front bucket seats with driver-seat memory, heated front
and second-row seats, high airflow tri-zone automatic
climate control and upgraded Bose AM/FM/cassette with
in-dash 6-disc CD changer are just some of the things
you'll find on the inside.
Surprisingly, there are actually options available
for people who just can't get enough. A power sunroof
and a passenger DVD system with 7-inch flip down screen
head the list.
Slightly bigger than the Denali, the 2003 XL Denali
adds the convenience of its extra-large frame to the
abundance of features standard with the premium SUV.
