2003 Honda Accord
Renown for its combination of performance, durability,
comfort and value, the Honda Accord is a true heavyweight
when it comes to vehicle popularity. In its seventh
go-round, the 2003 Honda Accord is the brightest of
the bunch, offering new styling, improved powertrain
configurations, better safety features and a higher
level of comfort. There isn't much more manufacturers
could have done with the 2003 model, short of creating
an entirely new vehicle.
The 2003 Honda Accord is offered in a two-door coupe
and a four-door sedan body style. The coupe is available
in LX and EX trim levels, while the sedan adds an entry-level
DX trim to its lineup. The selection is diverse and
plentiful, running the range of standard appointments
and luxury features. One thing all models share, however,
is the exceptional well roundedness that has defined
the Accord since its inception.
Under the Hood
The Honda Accord has always been quietly confident,
going about its business with an effortless ability.
There are two highly capable engines that reside under
the hood of the new Honda Accord. The first, standard
on DX sedans and available with other models, is a new
160-horsepower, 2.4-liter, i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine
and is available with either 5-speed manual or 5-speed
automatic transmissions. The other engine, available
with LX and EX trim models, is a more powerful 3.0-liter
V6 that pumps out 240 horsepower. 6-speed manual transmission
is offered with coupe EX models with this beefed up
engine.
The 2003 Honda Accord's body is stronger and stiffer,
helping to improve handling, performance and safety.
A new front subframe uses hydro-formed steel components
that are attached to the body to reduce noise and vibration
from the engine and front suspension. In terms of security,
the new Accord is safer than ever, with all models offering
dual front airbags and antilock brakes.
Standard Features, Options Packages and Style
2003 Honda Accords feature an interior with a higher
beltline and more prominent dashboard. Audio and climate
control systems have also been significantly upgraded,
providing all five passengers with a new level of comfort.
In terms of standard features, all Accords are well
equipped, with upper level models loading on the accessories.
At the top of the model range is the Accord EX V6 Sedan
with leather interior.
For the first time, a navigational system is available
in EX sedans. This next-generation, voice activated
Honda Satellite-Linked DVD Navigation System takes the
Accord to new technological heights.
A great value with an abundance of versatility, the
Honda Accord is tough to pass up on if you're looking
for a midsize car.
