2003 Honda Civic Si reviews and buying guide.

2003 Honda Civic Si resources:

2003 Honda Civic Si

The 2003 Honda Civic Si is a sporty hatchback version of the popular Civic, further adding to the versatility of the overall lineup. It is designed to set class standards for all-around performance, style, safety and functionality, combined with Honda's industry leading DQR - dependability, quality and reliability.

The Si has a two-door body style that can still seat five passengers without difficulty. It is designed for younger buyers, or those young at heart, with a distinctly adventurous look and feel. However, being a Civic, the Si has the type of performance, comfort and value that is spread across the line.

Under the Hood

The Si has the most powerful engine of all Civics, giving it a quick jump out of the blocks and an acceleration that continues even at high speeds. The engine under the hood is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder model that delivers 160 horsepower at 6500 rpm and 132 lb-ft of torque at 5000 rpm. 5-speed manual transmission is provided, allowing drivers to take active control of the vehicle's speed.

Like all Civics, the Si has a good fuel rating. It gets 26/30 mpg (city/hwy). For driving enthusiasts, the Civic Si features firm dampers and springs. Front and rear stabilizer bars and larger wheels and tires also enhance the Civic Si's sporty feel, while variable assist Electrical Power Steering (EPS) enhances steering feel. For safety, the Si has dual front airbags and antilock 4-wheel disc brakes.

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

In keeping with its sporty demeanor, the Civic Si features such exterior accents as a mesh front grille, a rear roof spoiler and 195/60VR15 tires. On the inside, the Si offers a smooth design that is both comforting and relaxing. It is filled with such standards as air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, mirrors and door locks, AM/FM CD player, leather-wrapped steering wheel and more.

For additional safety, owners of 2003 Honda Civics can opt for front side airbags, which provide added protection in side impact situations. Sporty and yet still practical, the 2003 Si is the Civic with flare.
