2003 Infiniti Q45
The Q45 is Infiniti's flagship luxury sedan, decked
out with an abundance of power under its hood. Though
it was completely redesigned for the 2002 model year,
the 2003 Q45 still has dozens of upgrades. The refinements
include a higher numerical final drive gear ratio for
a better acceleration feel, revised grille and rear
finisher appearance, standard heated seats and full-size
spare tire, available integrated satellite radio and
new optional equipment packages.
The Q45 has a four-door sedan body style with room
for five passengers. For 2003, there is a base model
and a Q45 Premium Model. The latter features a wealth
of luxurious amenities plus a few more performance features,
such as RJ adjustable suspension, 18-inch 8-spoke titanium-color
sport alloy wheels and 245/45R18 V-rated tires.
Under the Hood
In addition to being fast and agile, the 2003 Infiniti
Q45 is also rated as a Low Emissions Vehicle (LEV).
The engine responsible for the Q45's speed and efficiency
is a 32-valve 4.5-liter DOHC V8 producing 340 horsepower
and 333 lb-ft of torque. An Electronic Torque-Demand
Powertrain Control System optimizes smoothness and performance
for maximum satisfaction, while drivers will enjoy the
convenience of a 5-speed electronically controlled automatic
transmission with manual shift knob.
The 2003 Q45 seems to hover inches above the road with
4-wheel independent suspension with strut front suspension
with front strut tower bar and stabilizer bar and multi-link
rear suspension with stabilizer bar. For safety, 4-wheel
antilock brakes, dual front airbags, front side airbags,
curtain airbags, front-seat active head restraints,
an antiskid system and a tire-pressure monitor are all
standard.
Standard Features, Options Packages and Style
Three new exterior colors are offered for 2003, moving
the total up to eight: Emerald Mist, Brilliant Silver
and Golden Sand. Both Q45 models have interior surfaces
that are covered in rich textured materials, including
soft leather and genuine Bird's Eye Maple wood. In addition,
all Q45s have an advanced Vehicle Information System.
It features a 7.0-inch LCD screen on the instrument
panel that displays such vehicle operation information
as audio settings, climate control, maintenance updates
and auto door lock.
For extreme comfort, the Premium Model adds a rear
power sunshade and rear door manual sunshades, climate
controlled front seats with heating and cooling functions,
a navigation system, satellite radio, auto open/close
trunk, heated power-reclining rear seats with memory
and more. Not surprisingly, there are additional options
available.
Hard to believe, but the flagship Infiniti Q45 luxury
sedan got even better for 2003.
