2003 Jeep Wrangler resources:

2003 Jeep Wrangler (SE and X Editions)

The Jeep Wrangler continues to be the true, original Jeep that delivers unmatched open-air fun and freedom with the ability to go anywhere and do anything. When the term 'jeep' is mentioned, people automatically think of the Wrangler's construction. This is no small coincidence - it is a result of the tireless efforts of manufacturers, whose innovative designs and unmatched engineering have pushed the Wrangler to the forefront of the compact SUV class.

The 2003 SE and X editions occupy the entry-level positions in terms of the entire Wrangler lineup. There are a number of different models available, stretching all the way to the Rubicon, a vehicle truly designed for off-road enthusiasts. The X edition, with unique badging, expands the scope of Wrangler, attracting younger buyers in search of affordability as well as power in the 4.0-liter engine. With all sorts of variety from which to choose, customers looking at the Wrangler are sure to find at least one model to fit their needs.

Under the Hood

The SE edition of the 2003 Wrangler is given a capable 2.4-liter I4 engine with 147 horsepower at 5200rpm and 165lb-ft of torque at 3600rpm. The X edition adds power with a 4.0-liter V6 with 190 horsepower at 4600rpm and 235lb-ft of torque at 3200rpm. Both offer 5-speed manual transmission or 4-speed automatic and come with a 4WD configuration.

Along with stability, safety is comprehensively addressed with dual front airbags, driver's side constant force retractor, self-adjusting low-tension three-point belts and height-adjustable shoulder belts.

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

New front seats on Jeep Wrangler offer an additional 20 millimeters of rearward travel, allowing taller drivers to sit a more comfortable distance from the steering wheel. Taller seat backs provide a more comfortable ride, with a lever on the side of the front passenger seat for easier access to the rear. In addition to new front and rear seats, the 2003 Jeep Wrangler features a new four-spoke steering wheel, an additional power outlet on the dash and new standard corner pods located just behind the b-pillar on both sides of the vehicle house interior lamps, providing theater lighting and optional speakers.

The standard soft top can be replaced with a hardtop that includes full metal doors with roll-up windows, rear wiper/washer and deep tinted glass. For options, the Wrangler offers the entire gamut of possibilities, from safety and performance enhancements to convenience and comfort features.

Sold in more than one hundred countries around the world, the Jeep Wrangler is famous for a reason.
