2003 Lincoln Navigator
The 2003 Lincoln Navigator continues to be a forerunner
in the full-size sport utility vehicle class. This year's
model is stylishly redesigned to pile luxury and ease
on top of an already very luxurious and comfortable
ride where roominess and towing power are at the top
of a list of solid attributes.
Luxury, Premium and Ultimate models are available but
they all share a generous selection of standard features.
Under the Hood
With a 5.4-liter, dohc V-8 that puts out 300 horsepower
at 5000 rpm and an abundant torque of 355 at 2750rpm,
the 2003 Lincoln Navigator offers ample towing power
for most purposes. The 4-speed automatic transmission
can be used with only the rear wheels engaged or with
Ford's ControlTrac 4WD that can be used off road or
on and features low-range gearing.
Standard equipment also includes antilock 4-wheel disc
brakes, 18-inch wheels vs. last year's 17s, self-leveling
air-spring suspension, power-adjustable pedals plus
a variety of safety features, including 1st and 2nd
seating row curtain side airbags that deploy in side
impacts and rollovers.
Premium and Ultimate model upgrades include traction/antiskid
control for greater safety through improved control.
Standard Features, Options Packages and Style
Leather upholstery, heated power-fold door mirrors
and an in-dash CD changer also are standard features
complemented by genuine walnut interior trim.
The seating has a number of variable features. The
Ultimate model offers power folding second and third
row seating, while the second row is available as a
bench or as two bucket seats with a console. The Ultimate
also includes power running boards and liftgate, unique
to this model of SUV.
Continuing with the comfort enhancing features, an
entertainment system is available for the passengers
in the back. This system includes a fold-down LCD screen
complete with DVD player, two wireless headphones and
a remote control.
These luxuries are accompanied by one of the most extensive
collection of features in a vehicle today. This list
is too long to include everything here but highlights
are front and rear automatic climate controls, power
everything (windows, doors, mirrors, front seats with
8-way adjustment, steering, etc.), compass, trip computer,
keyless entry, automatic day/night conversion mirrors,
6-disc CD changer, front tow-hooks, Class 3 trailer
hitch, etc. The list goes on and on. If you want luxury
and power and are prepared to pay for it, look no further
than the Lincoln Navigator's Luxury, Premium or Ultimate
models.
