2003 Lincoln Town Car resources:

2003 Lincoln Town Car

The 2003 Lincoln Town Car is a quiet and spacious luxury car with an emphasis on comfort, power and prestige. This is the only full-size sedan with rear-wheel drive in North America. It is available in various editions including the Executive, Signature and limousine-like Cartier version, also available 6-inches longer as the Cartier L.

The 2003 Town Car has a few changes to its drivability and styling that enhance it as a sport and performance vehicle without detriment to its quiet, classy ride.

Under the Hood

The dual exhaust drive-train is now standard equipment throughout all Town Car offerings. The 4.6-liter V8 has 239 hp at 4900 rpm with 287 lb-ft of torque at 4100 rpm. This engine comes with 4-speed automatic transmission and has tested at 17/25 (city/hwy) mpg.

4-wheel antilock disc brakes, traction control, dual front and front-side airbags combine as standard safety equipment for the base Executive model, while the Signature and above have a rear-obstacle sensor for parking and safe reversing.

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

As with most of the Lincoln vehicles, a large collection of standard features come with the base model with each successive model upgrade providing a luxury improvement. Then, when these choices are exhausted, a series of optional add-ons are available that should satisfy anyone's thirst for gadgets and comforts.

The Executive model comes standard equipped with AM/FM/CD and cassette, automatic climate control with A/C, split bench front seat with lumbar adjustment and power recliners, cruise control, tilt leather-wrapped steering wheel with radio and climate controls. Power door locks, windows, mirrors and steering, and remote keyless entry add to the amount that can be done with the touch of a button. A theft-deterrent system to protect all these luxuries is also standard. Meanwhile, alloy wheels. 225/60R17 tires and cornering lights grace the exterior.

Upgrade to Signature and add a memory system for the driver's mirror, pedal and seat adjustments, heated front seats and upgrade to an Alpine Sound System and rain-sensing wipers and the Cartier has fog lights and chrome alloy wheels. Mix either of these two with the Premium package to enjoy a power sunroof and 6-disc CD changer.

Finally, optional add-ons include the Vehicle Communications System that includes voice-activated cell phone, route guide, emergency, and information services. Also, you can light your way with high intensity discharge headlights or upgrade the styling with two-tone paint and whitewalls. In short this is a classy ride for the discriminating driver.
