2003 Nissan 350Z reviews and buying guide.

2003 Nissan 350Z

The 2003 Nissan 350Z is a sports car with lots of power, handling, road holding ability and brakes. In short, this is a car for drivers with a passion for the curving tracks of life. This small car has a 3.5-liter V6 capable of 287 hp.

Pick one of five different models, base, Enthusiast, Performance, Touring or Track, for packages with different focuses. This is the first Z series Nissan to be available in America since the 300ZX of 1996.

Under The Hood

As is not surprising in a class that is all about performance, the 350Z is impressive under the hood. 287 horsepower at 6200 rpm is responsible for 274 ft-lbs of torque at 4800 rpm. Stick this onto the small 350Z chassis and you can get from 0-60 in under 6.0 seconds. A fast car.

To break down the drivability features by model, the base starts with 17-inch wheels, a 6-speed manual transmission, four-wheel antilock disc brakes and dual front airbags. Side and curtain side airbags are available for any of the five models.

An upgrade to the Enthusiast model includes traction control, a limited slip differential and a 5-speed automatic transmission. Move to the Touring (manual) or Perfomance models and add an anti-skid system, tire pressure monitor and 18-inch wheels, and finally, move to the Track Edition where a rear spoiler is installed along with upgraded brakes.

Standard Features and Optional Add-ons

When it comes to standard comfort and convenience features, the 350Z base model is pretty well equipped. Alloy wheels and great styling adorn the outside and a theft-deterrent system guards some great interior details, for example, AM/FM/CD player, automatic climate control with A/C, power everything, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Model upgrades were mostly focused on drivability differences but there are some interior enhancements. For the Enthusiast version add cruise control, a universal garage door opener and an automatic day/night mirror. The Performance and Track model have these same features.

The Touring version has an interior, comfort focus. Leather upholstery, heated seats with power adjustments and heated power mirrors are combined with an audio system upgrade to Bose Tuner with in-dash, 6-CD changer.

A navigation system with an in-dash screen can be added as an optional feature to the Performance, Touring and Track models. A cargo mat and floor mats are also available.
