2003 Oldsmobile Bravada
Oldsmobile makes only one SUV, the Bravada. However,
while other manufacturers may spread power, performance,
comfort and versatility over the whole range of their
fleet, Oldsmobile packs it all into the Bravada. As
a midsize SUV with five-passenger seating, the Bravada
provides the entire range of qualities families require
in their vehicles.
Research has shown that not surprisingly, the overwhelming
majority of SUV owners use their vehicles almost wholly
for on-road driving rather than off-road adventuring.
Oldsmobile not only recognizes this fact, they shape
the entire design of the Bravada around it. What results
is a midsize sports utility vehicle with an abundance
of style and sophistication, filled with comfort features
and standard equipment while lacking none of the traditional
ruggedness and power SUV owners are looking for.
The 2003 Oldsmobile Bravada is offered in a base model
only, but there's nothing base about it. Blending high-performance
and toughness with ultra-comfort, the base model is
fully loaded to begin with. For those who want even
more, an array of options are readily available.
Under the Hood
The 2003 Bravada is equipped with a solid Vortec 4.2-liter
I6 engine with 275 horsepower. The transmission is 4-speed
automatic, while 2WD and AWD configurations are available.
Rack-and-pinion steering makes handling the Bravada
a breeze. A short/long arm front suspension and an exclusive
air bladder rear suspension offers superior driving
comfort and distinguishes it from the competition
Safety isn't overlooked in favor of performance, as
the Bravada provides standard antilock 4-wheel brakes
featuring four-wheel vented disc with front aluminum
dual piston calipers. In addition, dual front and side-impact
airbags are also included.
Standard Features, Options Packages and Style
It is perhaps the style and comfort of the Bravada
that set it apart from other midsize SUVs. Crafted with
a sleek, flowing form, it seems to cut through the wind
as it travels. Available in a new color, Light Silver
Green, the Bravada is loaded with standard features.
Some of the names that pop out are air conditioning
with dual-zone automatic climate control and rear climate
controls, tilt leather-wrapped steering wheel with radio
and climate controls, the innovative OnStar System and
a trip computer.
For options, a DVD entertainment system is offered,
featuring a fold-down 7-inch monitor integrated into
the ceiling and cordless headphones.
With a refined sense of style and the type of sophistication
rarely found in an SUV, the 2003 Oldsmobile Bravada
is an attractive option for buyers in the market for
a midsize sport utility vehicle.
