2003 Pontiac Bonneville
The Pontiac Bonneville is a full-size car that's billed
as a sporty option to luxury. While retaining all the
refinement and comfort found in luxury vehicles, the
Bonneville also adds a little bit of kick to the package.
Capable of seating five or six quite comfortably within
its confines, the Bonneville can function either as
a sleek business ride or a dependable family vehicle
with a decided mark of class. Either way, driver and
passengers alike will find many things to enjoy about
the Bonneville.
The 2003 Bonneville is offered in three models: SE,
SLE and SSEi. The SE and SLE have a strong engine that
makes for easy passing and acceleration, while the SSEi
provides an even more powerful upgrade. As one would
expect, the top-line SSEi is quite simply loaded with
standard features, but the SE certainly doesn't shirk
on the basics.
Under the Hood
The engine that drives the SE and SLE is 3.8-liter,
231-cu. inch V6 with 205 horsepower. The result is plenty
of power out of the gate and at high speeds. All models
are front-wheel drive and possess 4-speed automatic
transmission. The SE and SLE come with vented front
and power-assisted brakes and dual front airbags, while
power assisted variable ratio rack-and-pinion steering
translates into easy handling.
The SLE steps it up in the strength department with
a supercharged version of the 3.8-liter V6, boasting
240 horsepower. Also featured on the SLE are additional
side-impact airbags, StabiliTrak traction control and
enhanced Magnasteer steering.
Standard Features, Options Packages and Style
Along with all sorts of standard features, the Bonneville
is offered in a new color for 2003: Steel Blue Metallic.
The base SE has everything you need, with such items
as manual front air conditioning, full instrumentation,
rear-seat pass-through and AM/FM CD player all provided
for. Naturally, the SLE and SSEi come with slightly
more. The SLE has a driver information center, the OnStar
Safe & Sound service for one year, 17-inch five-spoke
aluminum wheels and all-speed traction control, while
the SSEi adds SSEi-specific carpeted front and rear
floor mats, leather seating and leather-wrapped steering
wheel with radio controls.
For 2003 there are many options packages to choose
from to address the specific needs of your unique Bonneville.
A power sunroof is available at a small fee, as is a
12-disc CD changer and XM Satellite Radio for listening
pleasure. For people living in colder climates, an engine
block heater will be a valuable addition to the Bonneville.
With performance, grace and comfort, the Bonneville
truly blends sport-inspired excitement with a measure
of luxury.
