2003 Saturn L-Series

The 2003 Saturn L-Series refers to a line of accomplished midsize sedans and wagons. True to Saturn form, there are a number of evolutionary improvements for 2003 models. Along with better safety features, the L-Series is also given a new exterior look that is matched by a substantial number of upgrades on the interior.

The L-Series is available in two sedan models: L200 and L300. Additionally, there are two wagon models to choose from: LW200 and LW300. Both body styles have four doors and enough interior room to accommodate five passengers.

Under the Hood

The engines that power the L-Series are steady and efficient. 200-series sedan and wagon models (L200 and LW200) receive a 2.2-liter inline 4-cylinder engine capable of 135 horsepower. Uplevel sedans and wagons (L300 and LW3003) are equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 that dishes out 182 horsepower. 4-speed automatic transmission is standard, except for the L200 sedan, which has 5-speed manual.

The structure of the L-Series line of vehicles, including the engine and passenger compartment, was reworked in order to bring noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) to extremely low levels. Along with a stronger body structure, the 2003 L-Series addresses safety with dual front airbags and sophisticated head-curtain airbags, which protect occupants in side-impact collisions.

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

The hood and front end of the L-Series has been redesigned for 2003, including a larger grille and new chrome touches. The result is a more upscale look across all models. On the inside, the L-Series is roomy and comfortable. All models come with such standard features as air conditioning, interior air filter, power steering, tilt steering wheel, cruise control, cloth upholstery, front bucket seats, split folding rear seat, power mirrors, windows and door locks, remote keyless entry, AM/FM/CD player, digital clock and tachometer.

Dipping into the options list lets customers upgrade both the performance and convenience features of their vehicles. A DVD entertainment package is particularly impressive, as it provides an in-dash 6-disc CD changer along with a DVD player.

All of the L-Series models offer a host of new features, which simply add more appeal to the value of these midsize cars.
