Subaru’s smallest offering is theImpreza sedan. Powered by a choice of two engines that comprise the 2.5 RS or WRX models, the 2003 Subaru Impreza sedan is a World Rally winning, exceptionally priced and advanced vehicle entry to the compact-car class.Subarus are designed for the active individual who wants performance and action mixed with durability and safety.

Like every Subaru, theImpreza includes an All-Wheel Driving system and it enjoys a responsive sport-tuned suspension. When this performance technology is combined with the high level of standard comfort and convenience amenities that run consistently through the entire Subaru line, the result is an exciting and attractive car offering.

Under the Hood

TheImpreza 2.5 RS Sedan has a powerful 2.5-litersohc 4cyl. with a sturdy 165hp at 5600rpm and 166lb-ft of torque at 4000rpm. Teamed with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission, the less powerfulImpreza engine gets a solid 21/27mpg (city/hwy).

The second engine offering is a turbocharged 4-cyldohc 2.0-liter. This higher-revving but smaller displacement engine puts out substantially more power at 227 hp. This is achieved at 6000 rpm while the peak torque, of 217lb-ft is rated at 4000rpm. The turbocharged engine also has a choice of manual or automatic transmissions and it has a similar mileage rating with 19/27 mpg range.

Meanwhile, dual front air bags, front seat side-impact air bags, height-adjustable 3-point front seatbelts with pre-tensioners and force limiters, 3 rear seat child safety seat anchors and the LATCH system (Lower Anchors and Tether forCHildren), all provide a high standard for occupant safety.

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

Inside, theImprezas enjoy a variety of amenities, including power windows and door locks, sport-design reclining front bucket seats with driver's side height-adjustment and a rear seat fold-down center armrest with trunk pass-through. Also present are cruise control, air conditioning, remote keyless entry system, and a premium audio system with AM/FM stereo with logic control cassette, 6-disc in-dash CD changer and six speakers.

A variety of options packages are also available. The Popular Equipment packages (1-5) all offer a different assortment of luxury features. Stand alone add-ons can provide functional or performance enhancements like a roof rack, rear spoiler, alloy wheels, trailer hitch, etc.
