2003 Toyota Sienna
The 2003 Toyota Sienna has long been identified as
a quality leader in its segment and this year that value
is enhanced by upgrades to the entry CE model. The Sienna
CE offers the options of a power right-hand sliding
door (a manual right-hand sliding door is standard)
and captain's chair second-row seating, features previously
reserved for the other models.
The Sienna comes in one size, (114.2-inch wheelbase,
194.2-inch length) and seats seven passengers in three
model grades - CE, LE, and the top of the line XLE.
Offering a car-like driving experience and long-term
value, the Sienna is a credible entry to the minivan
class.
Under the Hood
The Sienna's has a single powerful engine choice for
all trim-levels. This 3.0-liter dohc V6 engine has Toyota's
advanced Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i)
that ensures an even spread of power with excellent
response at any speed. It produces 210 hp at 5800rpm
and 220 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 4400. The engine is
well matched to a four-speed electronic automatic transmission.
The Sienna is certified as a Low Emission Vehicle (LEV),
achieving EPA 19/24 mpg (city/hwy). The Sienna is rated
to tow up to 2,000 pounds, or up to 3,500 with the optional
tow prep package.
One of the key considerations of the family-centered
minivan consumer is safety and the Sienna is a leader
in this technology with a "Best Pick" rating
from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS)
and five stars (the highest possible rating) from the
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)
in its frontal crash test. This technology starts with
front and rear crumple zone construction, three-point
seatbelts for all outboard positions, pretensioners
and force limiters on front seatbelts, and second and
third-row LATCH brackets and CRS tethers for securing
child seats. All Sienna models come standard with an
anti-lock brake system (ABS) with Electronic Brake force
Distribution (EBD), daytime running lights, and a tire
pressure warning system.
Optional safety technology includes Vehicle Skid Control
(VSC) for customers seeking enhanced control in all
weather conditions. This system is teamed with traction
control (TRAC) and Brake Assist. Front seat-mounted
side-impact airbags are also an option on all models.
Standard Features, Options Packages and Style
The Sienna is one of the most versatile minivans on
the market. For example, standard dual sliding doors
help with accessibility while imaginative and useful
innovations are a common theme, like the flexible second-
and third-row seating that can be easily converted for
use as a serving table.
In fact, the assortment of choices ranges from basic
on the Base CE to extremely luxurious on the top-level
XLE. For even more choice, these can be accompanied
by many stand alone and/or major options packages.
