Used 2004 Audi A4 Cabriolet
Buying Guide for the Audi A4 Cabriolet:
Of the three body styles Audi offers its best-selling A4
in, the Cabriolet is probably the most fun to drive. While
it doesn’t distinguish itself that much from the sedan and
wagon in terms of power, handling, safety or equipment, it
does offer that one feature the others can’t: the open air.
Top-down driving is addictive. Once you try it, the memory
will gradually grow and grown until it presses against you
desires. When that happens, you just have to go out and get
a convertible for yourself. What better convertible than the
Audi A4 Cabriolet?
The Cabriolet is sleek, strong and handles like a dream.
It is well-engineered, with durability a necessary attendant
to all the hard work put in by the German manufacturer.
For 2004, the A4 gets a standard tire-pressure monitor. Also
new this year is a satellite radio option.
Under the Hood
The 2004 A4 Cabriolet comes in two main trims: 1.8T and 3.0.
The entry-level 1.8T A4 gets a 1.8-liter turbocharged inline
4-cylinder engine. It will give you 170 horsepower and 166
lb-ft of torque.
3.0 models get their title from the 3.0-liter V6 engine they
are given. It is able to produce 220 horsepower and 221lb-ft
of torque.
1.8T models come with 5-speed manual or continuously variable
automatic transmission (CVT). CVT has no set gears, giving
it a near infinite number of gear ratios. 3.0 models have
a CVT system with a special manual-shift mode.
Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive system is available with 3.0
models. By choosing this model, the convertible also gets
a 5-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift mode and
front and rear limited-slip differentials.
Standard Features, Options Packages and Style
The Cabriolet is a two-door car that seats four. It has a
quick power-folding top with a heated glass rear window.
In addition to being well-equipped in terms of standard comfort
features, 2004 A4 models are also thoroughly dressed with
safety items. All Cabriolets have traction control, dual front
airbags, front side airbags, antilock 4-wheel disc brakes
with brake assist, an antiskid system, automatic roll bars
and front and rear fog lights.
There are quite a few options available as well. Some of
the names on the attractive list include a navigation system,
OnStar assistance and leather upholstery. |
