2004 Buick LeSabre Review:
The Buick LeSabre has found its place at the top, and it
isn’t too keen on letting go anytime soon. For the 11th
straight year the LeSabre is the best-selling full-size car
on the US market. Since this distinction is carried over for
another year, Buick has decided to offer a special Celebration
model for another year as well. But there won’t be too many
around: Buick plans to build 15,000 Celebration Editions for
the 2004 model year.
The Custom and Limited models also return for another go-round.
In terms of changes, 2004 sees enhanced acoustic material
in the doors, quarter panels and trunk area to improve quietness.
In addition, three new colors are offered—Platinum Metallic,
Glacier Blue Metallic and Steelmist Metallic—plus a new Harmony
seat cloth is offered with all interior color schemes.
Under the Hood
Powering the 2004 Buick LeSabre is a 3.8-liter Series II
V6 engine with 205 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 230 lb-ft of
torque at 4000 rpm. It mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission.
The Celebration Edition is given a few added performance
perks for the ride. It features StabiliTrak, an advanced integrated
vehicle stability control system that helps the driver maintain
control in a skid or slide, and a head-up display for in-line
monitoring of instrumentation readouts.
A strong safety setup is one of the reasons the Buick LeSabre
has been so popular with consumers. Antilock 4-wheel disc
brakes, Gran Touring suspension and battery rundown protection
all help you feel secure and confident on the road.
Standard Features, Options Packages and Style
A well-appointed interior also helps to draw in potential
buyers. Buick’s standard list of convenience features includes
lockout protection, delayed locking, an auxiliary power outlet,
air conditioning, theater dimming, delayed entry-and-exit
lighting and power windows and door locks.
The OnStar system comes with the Limited model, providing
all of its practical features. So are leather-trimmed seats,
steering-wheel radio controls, heated front seats and more.
The Celebration Edition also distinguishes itself with its
style. It has a blacked-out grille, 16-inch chrome-plated
wheels, outside rearview mirrors with integrated turn-signal
indicators, special interior trim and premium exterior paint.
