Used 2004 Chevrolet Aveo

Buying Guide for the Chevrolet Aveo:

The makers at Chevrolet hope to boldly burst into the entry-level car market with the all-new Aveo. It is a snappy, European-designed small car that offers value, good fuel economy and a peppy ride. Constructed with a high ceiling and short overhangs, the Aveo maximizes space for loads of interior cargo room.

The Aveo is targeted towards young, budget-conscious people who need a car that will start up time and time again and can at times serve as a small moving truck. While you won’t be winning any speed races with the new Aveo, it will continue to run steadily for years and years. And as everyone knows, slow and steady always wins the race. Just ask the tortoise and the hare.

Under the Hood

The specs of the 2004 Chevy Aveo aren’t intended to wow you in any manner. It has a 1.6-liter, 4-cylinder engine with 105 horsepower at 5800 rpm and 107 lb-ft of torque at 3600 rpm. A deep-skirted block, large intake resonator, dual-muffler exhaust systems and other sound-damping technologies help reduce engine noise so that it won’t overwhelm you on the road.

A lightweight, high efficiency 5-speed manual transmission is standard. 4-speed automatic is optional. The automatic transmission features a gated shifter, allowing the driver to easily shift the transmission manually.

Aveo models with automatic transmission have a fuel rating of 26/35 mpg (city/highway), while manuals get a projected 28/34 mpg (city/highway).

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

The inside of the five-passenger, four or five-door Aveo features a number of thoughtful design highlights to give extreme cargo-carrying flexibility. Every Aveo has seat back pockets for items such as maps and magazines. The rear seat of the four-door folds flat to provide more cargo room, while the rear seat of the five-door folds flat and flips forward, yielding 42 cubic feet of cargo area.

Standard features on the base Aveo include an AM/FM stereo, tinted glass, a highly functional floor console with storage compartment, a front roof radio antenna, a rear window defogger, carpeting, floormats and more. LS models add a standard AM/FM stereo with CD player and MP3 playback, air conditioning, power door locks and windows, remote keyless entry and others.

An appearance package is optional with LS models, as are a power sunroof and a six-speaker sound system. Antilock brakes are optional with both models.
